Sanjay Seth inaugurates Photo Gallery at Singhbhum Chamber

Jamshedpur: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) unveiled its General Secretary’s Photo Gallery at Chamber Bhawan on Saturday evening as part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The gallery, dedicated to the Chamber’s former Honorary General Secretaries, was inaugurated by Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, who was present as the Chief Guest.

On the occasion, the Minister also released a poster titled “Adopt Swadeshi, Build Aatmanirbhar Bharat” under the ongoing campaign to promote self-reliance and indigenous products.

Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia informed that the initiative was aimed at honoring those who had served the Chamber with dedication and contributed to the welfare of traders and entrepreneurs. Chamber President Vijay Anand Moonka added that the photo gallery would serve as a source of inspiration for present and future members, reminding them of the tireless work done by past leaders. He recalled that in 2023, the Former President’s Photo Gallery had also been inaugurated as part of this tradition of recognition.

Speaking at the event, Sanjay Seth lauded the Chamber’s role as a bridge between business, administration, and government in addressing trade-related concerns. He said, “The Chamber has played a vital role in protecting the interests of traders and entrepreneurs, while also contributing to the nation’s growth. This gallery is a fitting tribute to the individuals who carried forward this mission.”

The Minister highlighted the Defence Ministry’s efforts to strengthen India’s self-reliance in the defence sector. He announced that a Defence Expo will be held in Ranchi on September 19–21, where entrepreneurs will be informed about requirements in defence production and encouraged to participate. “Business entrepreneurs of Jamshedpur must take advantage of this opportunity and contribute to India’s defence preparedness,” he urged.

Following the inauguration, the former General Secretaries and family members of late General Secretaries were felicitated by the Minister with mementoes. The event also saw the launch of a specially designed poster listing indigenous products, which will be displayed at various locations across the city to create awareness about the Swadeshi campaign.

Vice President Anil Modi reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and said, “This campaign is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. Singhbhum Chamber will continue to spread the message of adopting indigenous products for a stronger economy.”
