New Delhi (IANS): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) activated its online portal on Tuesday for Class 12 students who want to verify issues in their scanned answer sheets and request paper re-evaluations. Alongside the portal launch, the Board introduced Aadhaar-based authentication as a new security measure to streamline applications and protect student records.
According to CBSE’s official notice, the portal will remain open from June 2 until midnight on June 6. During this four-day window, eligible students who are dissatisfied with their assessment can apply to verify their scanned answer books and request re-evaluations for specific answers.
The CBSE clarified that only students who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets can access these facilities.
New Authentication Rules
To enter the portal, students must log into their CBSE website accounts and complete Aadhaar verification. The Board introduced this step specifically to enhance security and verify identities.
- No Personal Aadhaar? If a student does not own an Aadhaar card, CBSE permits them to use the Aadhaar details of a parent, guardian, or close relative.
- Matching Criteria: The Board specifies that the name, date of birth, and gender entered during authentication must exactly match the details of the individual whose Aadhaar is used.
The Board emphasized that applicants must complete the entire process—including application submission and fee payment—strictly online. CBSE will reject all offline applications and will not consider any requests submitted after the June 6 deadline.
How the Verification and Re-evaluation Process Works
When verifying issues in scanned sheets, students can report problems such as missing pages, absent supplementary sheets, blurred scans, missing maps or graphs, receiving the wrong answer book, or evaluation against an incorrect question paper set. Applicants can bundle multiple issues and subjects into a single application.
Crucial Warning: CBSE advises students to review all details carefully before paying. Once an applicant selects the ‘Freeze and Proceed to Payment’ option, they cannot modify the application. The system only considers a request successfully submitted after the online gateway processes the payment.
Fees and Guidelines:
- Issue Verification: ₹100 per answer book.
- Paper Re-evaluation: ₹25 per question.
- Payment Methods: UPI, debit cards, credit cards, or net banking.
- Single Opportunity: Students can apply for one or more questions across different subjects, but they must input all requests before final submission. CBSE permits only one re-evaluation application per student.
To assist applicants and prevent common errors, CBSE released a visual guide and tutorial. The Board will communicate the final outcomes after finishing the review process.
Technical Glitches Spark Student Concerns
The portal launch did not go entirely smoothly. Shortly after the facility went live, numerous students reported technical difficulties on social media platform X. Candidates complained of login failures, slow page loading, payment errors, and temporary website crashes.
These glitches have sparked anxiety among students and parents, especially given the tight deadline. Many candidates used social media to highlight these errors and asked whether the Board would extend the deadline if the technical problems persist.
Despite the complaints, CBSE urges students to stick to the prescribed schedule and complete their applications within the timeframe. The Board reiterated that all previously issued terms and conditions regarding verification and re-evaluation remain unchanged and fully in effect.
