Hazaribagh (IANS): Missing siblings were found dead in Hazaribagh. Police recovered the bodies of the brother and sister from separate locations on Monday, ending a five-day search and triggering widespread shock and outrage across the area. Investigators suspect murder and have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to crack the case.
Twelve-year-old Tamanna Parveen and her three-year-old brother, Rizwan, vanished from the Katkamdag police station area on May 27. Late Sunday night, searchers found Tamanna’s body in the Sindoor river within the Korra police station limits. By Monday afternoon, police discovered Rizwan’s body inside a nearby well in the Sindoor area.
Following the children’s disappearance, their father immediately filed a missing persons complaint at the Katkamdag police station. While both the family and the police launched a frantic search, the grim discoveries have left the family entirely devastated and sparked fierce anger among local residents.
“The police did not take the matter seriously when we reported the disappearance,” the bereaved family alleged. “Timely action could have saved their lives.”
The family, originally from Uttar Pradesh, earns a living by selling toys in Hazaribagh.

Under his direction, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Amit Kumar will lead the newly formed SIT. The department has also deployed forensic and technical teams to gather evidence.
