CBI probes illegal mining in Sahibganj, measures Nimbu Pahad Mines

Sahibganj: In an ongoing investigation into the Rs 1000 crore illegal mining and money laundering case involving ED witness Vijay Hansda, the CBI team in Sahibganj continued its inquiry for the second consecutive day. On Wednesday at approximately 9:45 am, the CBI team, accompanied by District Mining Officer (DMO) Vibhuti Kumar and an Amin, arrived at Lemon Pahad to investigate two illegal mines associated with the case.
The first mine, with a depth of about 50 feet and lacking proper demarcation, drew the attention of the CBI officials. Upon arrival, the team promptly inquired about the ownership of the mine. Spending approximately 30 minutes at the site, the CBI team, with the assistance of the Amin, conducted measurements and gathered comprehensive information from the mining officer. The team requested relevant documents from the officer for further scrutiny.
Subsequently, the CBI team proceeded to a second mine situated at a distance, which proved to be larger than the first. Similar instructions were issued to measure the second mine, as the investigative process unfolded.
