Singhania Group raided: Three kilos of jewelry unearthed, IT officials scrutinize documents

Jamshedpur: In a recent development, the ongoing raids on the premises of Singhania Group in Jharkhand have led to the discovery of three kilograms of jewelry. The evaluation of the recovered jewelry is currently underway, alongside a thorough examination of documents found at the group’s locations. This move comes in the wake of the Singhania Group diversifying its business activities beyond pan-masala following the ban on Gutkha in Jharkhand.
Income Tax officials, part of the Investigation Branch, initiated raids on December 19 across a total of 29 locations associated with pan-masala trader Jaiprakash Singhania and individuals linked to the group in Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh. As part of the investigation, the team is actively interrogating individuals connected to the group based on the documents seized during the raids.
The findings of the raid suggest a potential expansion of business interests by the Singhania Group, prompting authorities to delve deeper into the financial aspects and legality of the discovered jewelry and documents. The outcome of the ongoing investigation will shed light on any possible irregularities or connections between the diversified business ventures and the group’s pan-masala trade.
