Cash and valuables stolen in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 26: Unidentified thieves stole away cash and other valuables worth several lakh from a house in New Sitaramdera Layout Area in the wee hours of Saturday.

Sources said the theft transpired in the morning when the domestic help informed Rakesh Kumar Srivastava, owner of the house, about the theft. The thieves took away cash worth Rs 35,000, a laptop, monitor and other valuables from the house. They also broke the locks of the storeroom in the house and stole the valuables kept inside.

Police have registered a case against unidentified persons in this connection. They are looking for the CCTV footage obtained from the neighbourhood to get clues about the thieves.

Srivastava was in Telco when the theft took place. There was no one in the house at the time of theft, sources said.
