Jamshedpur, Feb 26: The parents and kin of late Suraj Kumar, former BJP youth wing leader, will be staging a demonstration before Bagbera police station on 5th March to demand speedy prosecution of his killers.
Vijay Kumar, father of the former BJYM leader, said he had decided to stage protest after police failed to submit chargesheet in the case of his son’s murder after 80 days of the crime. “My son was killed with sharp weapons on 7th December last in Harharguttu. He died during treatment at Tata Main Hospital. Even after 80 days, police have not recorded the statement of main witnesses of the case. As a result, the chargesheet has not been submitted in the court. This has made it difficult for us to get justice in this case,” he said.
Kumar said he had intimated the sub divisional officer (SDO) of Dhalbhum about his decision to protest and sought permission to stage demonstration. He said he would follow COVID-19 guidelines during the protest programme.
