Case filed against three for firing at brick kiln owner in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 18: A case has been filed against three persons for allegedly firing at Ajit Singh, a brick kiln owner at Jojobera, Govindpur police station area, Jamshedpur, on the night of November 13.

The attack happened in Rahargoda when Singh refused to pay extortion money. Two bullets struck Singh’s right hand and the attackers fled the scene. The injured Ajit Singh is currently admitted at TMH. The Parsudih police have filed an FIR against Bharat Kamat, Bittu Kamat and Vikas Kamat for shooting Singh with the intent to kill after he refused to pay the demanded ransom money.

All three accused are residents of the Jojobera area. The incident began on November 11, when Ajit Singh, while returning home after buying vegetables, encountered Bharat Kamat at the Jojobera Chowk. Bharat demanded Rs. 50,000, to which Ajit responded that he did not have the money at the moment but might pay after the elections if funds were available.

The next day, Bharat called Ajit, but he did not answer. On November 13 morning Bharat called again, saying he would send two men to collect the money. Ajit told him he still did not have the money. Shortly after, two men arrived, one being Bharat’s cousin, Bittu Kamat, and the other was Vikas. Both were armed. They fired four shots in the air and then fired two bullets at Ajit Singh, hitting his right hand.
