Carmel Junior College Jamshedpur wins Frank Anthony debate at Sri Krishna Public School

Jamshedpur: The auditorium of Sri Krishna Public School, Bistupur, echoed with powerful arguments and youthful enthusiasm as it hosted the prestigious Frank Anthony All India Inter-School Debate Competition, organized under the aegis of the ICSE Board, New Delhi. The event brought together bright young debaters from leading ICSE schools across Jharkhand for a day of intellectual exchange and spirited discourse.

The competition featured participation from several reputed schools including Kerala Public School Mango, R.V.S. Academy Mango, Carmel Junior College Sonari, Tarapore School Agrico, Kerala Public School Gamharia, Kerala Public School Kadma, J.H. Tarapore School Ghatkidih, Loyola School Telco, and Xavier School Gamharia.

A warm welcome was extended by  Madhumita Sarkar, following which the ceremonial garlanding of the image of Maa Saraswati was conducted by school secretary  Pawan Kumar, treasurer  D.N. Singh, principal  Purnima Tripathi, and members of the jury.

The distinguished panel of judges for the debate included eminent educationists  George Velappani,  Jayshree Sharma, and Dr. Rupa Sarkar, who assessed the participants on clarity, content, confidence, and delivery.

Addressing the gathering, the general secretary of the institute, Dr. Hariballabh Singh Aarsi, motivated the students to remain committed to their goals and strive for excellence in all fields. He urged the youth to develop a strong sense of patriotism and contribute meaningfully to India’s global reputation.

Carmel Junior College, Sonari, emerged as the winner of the debate, while Kerala Public School, Mango, was declared runner-up. The title of Best Speaker was awarded to Carmel Junior College, Sonari, with Kerala Public School, Kadma, receiving the Runner-up Speaker award. The trophies and certificates were distributed by chief jury member  George Velappani.

The event was smoothly anchored by  Rinki Matharu, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Principal  Purnima Tripathi.
