Yoga and grace shine at 4th All India Open Yoga Beauty Contest in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The spirit of yoga and fitness took center stage in Jamshedpur as International Yoga Guru Anshu Sarkar, President of the World Fitness Federation of Yogasana Sports India (Bharat) and Director of Sarkar Yoga Academy, hosted the Sarkar Classic 4th All India Open Yoga Beauty Contest as part of his annual event. The grand competition drew participation from across India and was divided into two prestigious categories — Yoga Princess (ages 10 to 21) and Yoga Queen (ages 22 to 40).

The contest witnessed 100 participants from various states, competing for top honors in front of an esteemed panel of judges from Jharkhand and beyond. In the Yoga Princess category, Asmi Bajirao Dhanawade from Maharashtra emerged as the winner, followed by Siddhi Sameer Kulkarni (Maharashtra) as first runner-up and Aarohi (West Bengal) as second runner-up. In the Yoga Queen category, Akanksha Kumari Singh from Ranchi claimed the crown, while Pammi Kumari (Ranchi) and Neha Bagh (West Bengal) secured the first and second runner-up positions respectively. Ten participants from each group were also felicitated with consolation prizes.

The event opened with an inaugural session at the auditorium of Kadma Kerala Public School, graced by Shakuntala Murmu (Director, LIC Zonal Training Center – Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal), Lakshmi Sharat (Director, KPS Academy), and social worker Vijay Verma. The prize distribution ceremony took place at the Kusum Kamani Auditorium of Narbheram Hansraj English School, Bistupur, in the presence of dignitaries including former MLA Kunal Sarangi, Tata Steel Vice President Prabal Ghosh, Yoga Federation of India’s Sanjay Jha, social worker Indrajit Ghosh, and others, representing the state’s Education Minister.

Adding to the occasion’s grandeur, 25 personalities were honored for their contributions to the field of yoga—22 at the state level and 3 at the national level. Among the national awardees, Manoj Kumar Mishra, National Director of Physical Education of India, received the title National Sports Icon–2025, while Tarun Saha and Sanjay Jha of Vikram Yoga were conferred the National Yoga Lovers Award.

Judging responsibilities were shouldered by experts such as M Rajeshachari (Technical Director), Bhavana (Karnataka), and others from Ranchi including Sushit Banerjee, Indrajit Chakraborty, Vishwajay Chaudhary, Rajni Bakshi, and Sharbani Mukherjee. The contest concluded with an engaging viva round, where the final results were announced in an interactive session between participants and the special awardees.
