Jamshedpur, March 22: Unidentified people set a car on fire in Pawat Mohulla near Gaushala Nullah Road under Jugsalai police station area in the wee hours of Tuesday. The car was vandalized on Sunday last, sources said.
Police officials said a clash between the car owner, Arjun Singh, and a group of his neighbours including one Raju Singh on 19th March on the issue of playing Holi songs could be the cause of arson. Arjun Singh accused several persons of setting his car on fire. He identified the accused persons as Vinod Singh, Ravindra Singh, Ashish Singh, Akash Singh, Sanjay Singh, Ritesh Singh and others. The accused persons had barged into the house of Arjun sngh and broke all chairs. Efforts were also made to break open the door, police officials said.
Arjun Singh alleged the culprits were issuing threats to the lives of his family members. He said that it had now become difficult for his family members to go out of the house.
Meanwhile, Raju Singh, who was admitted to Tata Main Hospital after being allegedly assaulted by Arjun Singh, was discharged from TMH. A police team has been deployed outside his house, said an official.
