Jharkhand’s Captain Aman Ayushkar Secures AIR 27 in Indian Forest Service Exam

Sahibganj: Aman Ayushkar, a resident of Purani Sahibganj and son of Omprakash Tiwari, has brought immense pride to Jharkhand by securing the 27th All India Rank (AIR) in the Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination, the results of which were declared on May 8. Aman’s transition from a decorated military officer to a top-ranking forest official serves as a powerful testament to his grit and determination.

The Hero of Galwan

Aman’s journey reflects a deep-rooted commitment to national service. After clearing the Indian Engineering Service in 2018, he joined the Ministry of Defence in January 2020 as a Captain. Following the 2021 Galwan incident, Captain Aman played a critical role in constructing the strategically vital ‘Kailash Mansarovar Road’ along the Indo-China border. His bravery and technical contribution earned him the prestigious Army Commander Medal.

A Shift Toward Conservation

Aman’s interest in the Forest Service sparked during his road construction assignment in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. Interactions with forest officials inspired him to shift his focus toward environmental preservation and biodiversity. Driven by this new mission, he resigned from his post as Captain in 2024 to prepare for the IFS exams from his hometown.

An alumnus of St. Xavier’s School, Sahibganj, Aman holds an M.Tech from IIT Delhi. He credits his success to his parents, mentors, and the inspiration he drew from Patna’s ‘Dolphin Man.’ Being a native of Sahibganj, he remains deeply motivated by the upcoming Dolphin Sanctuary and conservation efforts in the River Ganga.

Message to Youth: “Failure is Part of the Journey”

Aman’s father is a farmer and private tutor, while his mother, Sudha Tiwari, is a homemaker. His sisters are also pursuing higher education in Delhi and at Cambridge University, London.

Encouraging UPSC aspirants, Aman stated, “Failure is simply a part of the journey. Do not get discouraged; maintain consistency in your studies, and success will surely follow.” Following in the footsteps of previous local success, Niharika Sinha, Aman’s achievement has sparked a fresh wave of enthusiasm among youth in the region.
