Capacity building programme enhances teaching skills at DAV Public School Bistupur

Jamshedpur, Sep 4: The two-day Capacity Building Programme for In-Service Teachers of English, held at DAV Public School Bistupur on September 3, concluded with a focus on updating educators about revised curricula and teaching methods. Organized by DAV CMC, New Delhi, and guided by Pragya Singh, ARO DAV Public Schools, Jharkhand Zone-E, the workshop aimed to equip teachers from Primary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary levels with modern teaching strategies.

The workshop saw the participation of 48 teachers from six schools within Jharkhand Zone-E. Key sessions included an interactive discussion on Modern and Effective Strategies for Teaching Prose by Dalia Mukherjee and methods to address learning gaps by Sujata Mukherjee and Meena K. S. The sessions also highlighted innovative approaches to teaching literature, presented by S.K. Jha, and creative classroom techniques.

For Primary teachers, Avishek Mazumder focused on the three R’s of poetry – Rhyme, Recitation, and Rhythm, while P.K. Das emphasized enhancing writing skills through activities. Shashi Bhushan Kumar and a joint session by M. Sunita and Moulimala Ghosh covered activity-based learning and strategies to simplify education.

The workshop aimed to shift teaching methods from traditional to interactive formats, enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. The event concluded with a Valedictory Function and feedback session, reflecting the programme’s commitment to fostering active learning and adapting to recent syllabus changes.
