Jamshedpur, Sep 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jamshedpur on September 15 to launch schemes totalling Rs 21,000 crores from Tatanagar station. The major highlights include the introduction of new railway lines and the flagging off of five Vande Bharat Express trains, including routes to Patna and Baleshwar.

In preparation for this significant event, General Manager Anil Kumar Mishra of South Eastern Railway inspected Tatanagar Railway Station on Wednesday. GM Mishra reviewed the station’s platforms and surrounding areas, providing instructions to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ARM) to ensure all arrangements, including security, are in place. While there is no official confirmation yet, preparations are underway, including a major redevelopment project that will expand the station from five to eight platforms and enhance security measures.

The Prime Minister will also flag off the recently approved Chakulia-Budamara railway line and address pending projects related to the third railway line. A joint team from the Prime Minister’s Office and Railway Ministry conducted a drone survey of the station area, capturing images for planning purposes. The event will feature a stage and seating for about 500 people, with vehicle parking arrangements in the front part of the station. Currently, the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express operates through Tatanagar, and on September 15, two new Vande Bharat trains—one to Patna and the other to Odisha—are expected to be inaugurated. The railway administration is accelerating preparations to ensure a successful program.
