Former CM inaugurates mega trade fair in Gopal Maidan

Jamshedpur, Sept. 29: Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda said that Canvas India Trade Fair has become a brand in Jamshedpur and is a household name where people wait all year round for the mega fair to start to purchase the product of their choice.

Addressing the media after inaugurating the fair, BJP leader hailed the fair saying that Jamshedpur is a smart city and Canvas trade fair provides all products ranging from automobile to electronics, appliances to Builder & Industrial, furniture to food and consumer to handicrafts under one roof. ‘Once people enter the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur, the venue of the trade fair they can enjoy their evening with food, fun, entertainment and lots of shopping without the issue of traffic’.

Munda further said that the fair provides a platform for the indigenous products of Jharkhand and with market trend changing everyday there is a need to bring in new products to attract buyers.

Organised by Concern (India) Shows Private Ltd and promoted by Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) the 27th Canvas trade fair which has completed 16 years of its existence, will continue till October 9, said Jyoti Pandey Managing Director of Canvas India.

Pandey informed that 552 stalls have been put up including that of handicrafts from Kashmir, Haryana, Tamil Nadu along with real estate biggies from Kolkata, Delhi-NCR are part of the fair.

He further said that from consumer electronics to apparels maker almost all the major players are participating in the fair and have come up with attractive offers. Separate entertainment and gaming zone along with Rajasthan food festival and local delicacies are also being offered to the visitors. The shopping carnival will also see cultural programs over a period of 10-days.

Pandey went on to say that the fair will also have entry fees were every visitors will have dole out Rs 25 to enter the fair and enjoy the evening.
CCTVs and adequate security arrangements have also been made to ensure the peaceful environment.

Also present during the inauguration were BJP leader Amarpreet SIngh Kale, SCCI President Ashok Bhalotia, former President Suresh Sonthalia, Vice President Bharat Vasani, MLA Laxman Tudu, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and others.
