Jamshedpur, Jan 11: The birthday of JMM supremo and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Sibu Soren was celebrated with fervour in Lowadih village of Potka on Saturday. Tributes were also paid to former Jamshedpur MP late Sunil Mahato on the occasion of his birth anniversary. A large number of people had gathered to celebrate the twin occasions. Former Potka MLA Sanatan Majhi cut a cake to begin the celebration. He said it was due to the long struggle of Sibu Soren that a separate state of Jharkhand came into existence.
A similar programme was organized in Hitku panchayat. Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar was present as chief guest. He cut a cake and also distributed books and stationery items among children.
Others present on the occasion included Sudhir Soren, Bhagirathi Hansda, Luv Sardar, Chandrawati Mahato and Dashmat Murmu.
