Ranchi, January 29: Hemant Soren led Jharkhand cabinet has approved the the implementation of the Jharkhand State Higher Education Award Scheme.
This scheme aims to recognize and reward teachers, students, administrators, and institutions for their commendable contributions to higher education in the state.
The cabinet meeting on Wednesday also gave nod for dismissal of Matias Vijay Toppo, a Jharkhand Administrative Service officer, for his involvement in the illegal transfer of land during his tenure as the Special Regulation Officer in Ranchi.
He is currently serving as the Director of Accounts Administration and Self-Employment at the District Rural Development Agency in Hazaribagh.
Additionally, the cabinet sanctioned the creation of two shadow posts for Assistant Teachers at Doranda Girls High School, a non-government-aided linguistic minority institution in Ranchi. These posts will be valid for the period from February 26, 2009, to December 31, 2017.
The cabinet also approved the regularization and confirmation of service for retired postman Raj Kumar Ram, along with the provision of his estimated financial benefits. Similarly, the service of Vijay Kumar Thakur, a retired Senior Instructor at the Handicraft Resource-cum-Development Center in Jamshedpur (retired on April 30, 2024), was regularized, and his pensionary benefits were granted.
In light of the increase in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate for construction work (raised from 12% to 18%), the cabinet approved a procedure for determining and settling the differential amount liability in work contracts under the Urban Development and Housing Department.
