Burglars target Rajendra Vidyalaya principal’s house, jewelry worth Rs 5 lakh stolen

Jamshedpur, July 24: Unidentified thieves stole jewelry worth Rs 5 lakh from the residence of Rakhi Mukherjee, Principal of Rajendra Vidyalaya, near Baug-e-Jamsheed in Sakchi on Wednesday.

Sources said the incident took place in the wee hours when the thieves sneaked into the house. Mukherjee was away to meet her husband in Telco. Finding the house unoccupied, the thieves had plenty of time to lay their hands on the jewelry. However, surprisingly, they did not take any other valuable.

When Mukherjee returned to her quarter in the morning, she found the locks at the entrance broken. When she went inside, she found the almirah lock broken too. On searching, her fear was confirmed as the thieves had taken away all the jewelry. She later informed police and lodged an FIR against unidentified persons.
