Burglars target librarian of DPS

Jamshedpur, July 23 : Burglars decamped with cash and gold ornaments worth over Rs 5 lakh after targeting an apartment along the Dimna Road under Ulidihpolice station area in Mango at the wee hours of Sunday.

The burglary took place at the apartment located on the fourth floor of AasthaSai City, when the owner of the flat, Sudhir Kumar Singh was away in Deoghar along with wife Kanaklata for offering obeisance to Lord Shiva.

Singh, who works as a librarian at Delhi Public School, was informed about the burglary at his house by a neighbour. OC, Ulidihpolice station, MukeshChaudhury confirmed about the burglary at AasthaSai City.

” We are investigating the incident. We had been to the spot after getting a complaint from one of the neighbours early this morning. We will register a case in connection to the incident only after getting a formal FIR which will be possible after the victim returns home,” said Chaudhury.
The officer-in-charge said the criminals had entered into the apartment after cutting the door. After entering into the house, the criminals had broken open a steel almirah from which they have taken away the ornaments and cash.

The victim Sudhir Singh said that though he was yet to reach the steel city, but as he heard from his neighbour, the gold ornaments and cash that he had kept in the almirah must have gone. Sources said Singh (52) would stay at that apartment on rent since the past eight years.
