Her husband Vimal Agarwal, editor of the English Daily, The Avenue Mail who returned to his house this morning found that a small part of the door was broken. As he entered the house he found that the ventilator was also broken.

Following the incident, a case has been registered against unknown thieves at Kadma police station based on the statement by Vimal Agarwal.

Agarwal told the police that when he reached his 71 KD flat residence at 5 am on Monday morning, he noticed that the ventilator above the main entrance was broken though which the burglars had entered the house. A portion of the main entrance door too was broken. On entering the house he found that the thieves had also broken the glass panel of the internal room for entry. The burglary was committed in this room.
A police official said that the dog squad had been pressed into service to trace the thieves. The police have collected fingerprints purportedly of the burglars.
President Pranab Mukherjee had conferred Padma Shri on city-based ace mountaineer Premlata Agarwal at an impressive ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi April 20, 2013.
“With rising cases of thefts and burglaries in the city, the administration must appoint extra security personnel and night guards as a part of preventive measures. It is time for the police to focus attention on curtailing the growing incidences of burglary in the city. The police should deploy more patrolling in city localities as one measure to prevent thefts,” said a local resident.
He said that Jamshedpur had the reputation of being safe from criminal activities, but the rising cases of thefts and burglaries speak otherwise. “It is high time that police identify such criminals and action is taken against them. It is the duty of every police station to keep a vigil on crime cases in their areas and take action against the culprits,” he said.
