Ranchi: On the 82nd birth anniversary of Jharkhand movement leader and state architect Shibu Soren, Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid heartfelt tribute to the veteran leader. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also launched the Guruji Student Credit Card scheme, aimed at supporting students from the state in pursuing higher education.

Addressing the gathering, Hemant Soren said that Baba Dishom Shibu Soren’s struggle, life and ideals will continue to inspire generations in the pursuit of justice, dignity, and rights. “His life remains a source of inspiration in the history of Jharkhand,” the Chief Minister added. He also emphasized that Shibu Soren’s contributions are indelible and that he will always live in the hearts of Jharkhandis. The programme concluded with slogans of “Jai Jharkhand.”

The tribute event saw participation from ministers Hafizul Hasan and Sudivya Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP Joba Maji, senior JMM leader Vinod Pandey, Suprio Bhattacharya, and numerous public representatives, party leaders, and workers, who paid floral tributes to Shibu Soren’s portrait. Attendees remembered his personality and achievements while taking a pledge to realise the dreams of progress that he envisioned for Jharkhand.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended a dialogue programme at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Khelgaon, where he focused on the successful implementation of the Guruji Student Credit Card scheme. Addressing students, the CM emphasized education as the key to overall societal development.

Hemant Soren said that Baba Dishom Shibu Soren, the architect of Jharkhand and a champion of the statehood movement, always stressed the importance of education. He added that following Baba’s ideals has been his guiding principle, with one key goal being to ensure that every child in Jharkhand is educated.

Urging youth to take responsibility, the CM said, “This goal will be achieved only when the state’s young people recognize their role. Take one step forward, and the government will help you move ten steps ahead. It is the government’s responsibility to guide you to your destination.”

Speaking about the Guruji Student Credit Card scheme, he described it as a vital initiative for Jharkhand’s talented students, making higher education more accessible. He encouraged students to benefit from the program and actively contribute to the state’s development through education.

Baba Taught Me to Live With Dignity and Truth: Hemant Soren

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday shared a deeply emotional message on the 82nd birth anniversary of his father and ‘Dishom Guru’ Shibu Soren. Through his social media handle, Hemant Soren recalled his father’s struggles and described him as his greatest source of inspiration.

Writing about the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “Today is the birth anniversary of my Baba, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Ji. For me, it is not just the birthday of a great leader, but a reminder of the father who taught me how to live, how to struggle, and most importantly, how to stand firm on one’s dignity, values, and truth without compromise.”

He further expressed, “Baba never bowed to injustice. He devoted his entire life to protecting water, forests, land, and tribal identity. I have seen him tired many times, but never defeated. His unyielding determination and resolve still live within me.”

Emotional and reflective, Hemant Soren added, “As a son, I learned simplicity from him, the courage to face difficulties without turning away, and to always treat power as a means to serve the people. Baba, I will walk my life on the path you showed, following the ideals you gave, no matter what challenges come. Jai Jharkhand! Jai Dishom Guru! Your memory will always remain immortal.”
