Burglars decamp gold ornaments worth Rs 12 lakhs from Tata Motors employee’s house

Jamshedpur : In yet another case of burglary in the city, a gang of burglars decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs 12 lakh from a house in Ghorabandha under Govindpur police station area on Sunday morning.

The criminals targeted the house of Raja Pal Chowdhury, whois an employee of Tata Motors. As the news of the
burglary spread, the police went over to the spot and inspected the scene of burglary.

Officer-in-charge, Govindpur police station, Nand Kishore Sahoo confirmed this to be a case of burglary and stated that they have started investigation into the case.

He said they had pressed a sniffer dog in service, but are yet to get the clues.” We are investigating the incident and it is too early to comment. Whoever are behind the burglary, the criminals must have known the victim’s movement and also the stock of the jewellies at home,” said the officer-incharge.

According to Chowdhury, the cost of the total ornaments lost was Rs 11 lakh, of which gold ornaments were estimated to be of Rs 10 lakh and remaining ormaments were made that of silver.

The cost of stolen sarees would be around of Rs 1 lakh.Police officials informed that the thieves and burglars tend to commit crime in dark, when the people are in deep slumber.

He pointed out if the police parties carry out an intensive patrolling then the criminals will get a message that they may be caught during any wrong doing.
