Deoghar, July 7: A two-storey building collapsed on Sunday in Deoghar district, resulting in the deaths of at least three persons and injuries to three others. The collapse happened around 6:00 am in Deoghar town, burying several individuals under the debris.

Deoghar Civil Surgeon Ranjan Sinha reported to the media that six individuals were retrieved from the rubble and taken to Sadar Hospital. “Of them, two were brought dead. Another woman succumbed to her injuries. The treatment of the three others, including a child, is underway,” Sinha stated.

A team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed to carry out the rescue operation. Deoghar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ritvik Srivastava mentioned that a few more people were feared to be still trapped under the debris, and the rescue efforts were going on.

NDRF Inspector Randhir Kumar, who is leading the operation, confirmed that efforts were being made to retrieve the trapped individuals. “One person has been rescued, and two others are feared trapped under the debris,” an NDRF official reported.

The rescue team was working diligently to save lives and provide necessary aid to those affected by this incident.
Child rescued from rubble of collapsed building, Civil Surgeon dubs it ‘miracle’
Deoghar, July 7: Three persons lost their lives after being buried under the rubble of a collapsed three-story building in Deoghar. However, four people were rescued safely, including three children who were the first to be pulled out. The civil surgeon described the survival of the child as nothing short of a miracle.
Early Sunday morning, the building collapsed, trapping about seven people under the debris. Despite it being a Sunday and the OPD being closed, the Deoghar Sadar Hospital Civil Surgeon said, “We have deployed a team of four doctors since morning. I have been here since 7 o’clock, treating those who were brought in alive. It is a miracle that a child was brought in alive and treated on time. There is also a woman who survived, though her leg is broken.”
Rescue operations are going on as authorities continue to search for remaining survivors under the rubble.
