Jamshedpur : The BSNL Employees’ Union’s Jamshedpur unit is staging dharna in front of the telecom major’s general manager office at Tinplate in favour of demands.
Over 250 permanent staff of the BSNL are participating in the protest phase wise BSNL Employees’ Union secretary Ram Naresh Prasad revealed that where as three of their demands
are related to the grievances from the employees which include the third grade and fourth grade workers, the remaining 10 demands are related to the issues concerning the deteriorating service in both the BSNL landline as well as the mobile phone.
“We are here to protest against the management. The condition of both the trained workers as well as the telecom service has deteriorated over the year,” said Prasad.
Prasad said that the maintenance of telephone service largely depends on the linemen, who has
experience of mending the underground cables for restoring the telephone service.
The activists said that 8,000 connection of both the landline and mobile phone consumers have
withdrawn connection after they were greatly disappointed from the BSNL service.
