Brutality against stray dogs on the rise in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Sept. 18: At a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is urging the people to be more compassionate and adopt our desi breed of dogs, Jamshedpur has witnessed series of incidents were stray dogs are being brutally killed in the city and its outskirt.

Jharkhand Animal Welfare Society (JAWS) team member a couple of days earlier got a call from Gamharia Area that a man named Durga had brutally beaten up stray dogs in the area near Lal Building wherein one dog died on the spot and the other was severely injured.�

Akash Sinha, volunteer of JAWS reached the spot and spoke to the locals and recorded their statement. Basis of which the animal lover Aakash Sinha, Akash Dey, Debanjan and Vivek Gupta filed an FIR against the individual in Adityapur Police Station.

“Brutal killing of a dog is a sign of murderous intent and psychosis which inturn someday be inflicted on humans as well. Police authorities should take stern action against these individuals,” said a dog lover.
