Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident near Aegis Call Center under Ulidih police station, two youths, Mohan Das and Vikas Prasad, residents of Sankosai 5th Road, were brutally attacked with a knife for taking a stand against drug abuse in their locality.
The assailants, identified as drug addicts, unleashed a fatal attack on the brothers after Mohan Das vociferously opposed the prevalent drug abuse in his community. The incident occurred in the proximity of the Aegis Call Center, raising concerns about the safety of the area.
Mohan Das, who sustained serious injuries in the assault, managed to inform Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vikas Singh about the incident. Vikas Singh promptly reported the case to the local police station, demanding swift action and the immediate arrest of the culprits.
Providing details about the victims’ injuries, it was revealed that Mohan Das underwent a surgery requiring eleven stitches on his right hand, while Vikas Prasad suffered a deep wound to his neck, necessitating six stitches for treatment.
Expressing grave concern over the situation, Vikas Singh highlighted that the entire Mango locality has fallen prey to the influence of drug addicts and dealers. The incident underscores the pressing need for robust measures to address the rising drug menace in the area.
