Brazen theft in Golmuri: Lakhs stolen after breaking into locked flat

Jamshedpur: In a daring heist, thieves targeted the residence of Narendra Kaur, residing in GF flat number 35 under Golmuri police station, leaving the family in shock upon their return. Narendra, who had traveled to Punjab for a three-day trip, was met with an unfortunate discovery upon his daughter Gurpreet Kaur’s return on Thursday morning.

The perpetrators had forcibly broken into the locked flat, leaving behind a scene of disarray with belongings scattered throughout the house. Gurpreet immediately alerted her father and contacted the local police to report the incident. Law enforcement swiftly arrived at the scene to commence their investigation into the burglary.

According to Gurpreet, the thieves made away with a substantial amount, totaling around Rs 80 thousand in cash, along with jewelry valued at Rs 1.5 lakh. In a surprising twist, the burglars left behind a screwdriver and a large iron rod at the crime scene, potentially providing vital clues for the ongoing investigation.

Narendra Kaur, on receiving the distressing news, is en route from Punjab to Jamshedpur. Once he arrives, the police will proceed to file a First Information Report (FIR) based on the details provided by the victim and their initial investigation.
