Jamshedpur : A bomb hoax call at the busy Sitaramdera bus terminus triggered panic for the people on Thursday morning. Rumour started with the abandoned can which was initially said to be a can-bomb however when disposed off by a team of police came out to be a can with remains of sugar and dry-milk.

The bomb hoax triggered panic first at the government bus terminus where the can was found at an abandoned state in a corner of the terminus gate, later spread across the entire bus-stand, causing the traffic on the Bhuiyandih-Mango Road and on the Mango-Sakchi Road go haywire.

Led by superintendent of police Kartik S arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Several long distance buses, which were scheduled to leave the bus terminus delayed in departing the bus terminus in view of threat. The buses left the terminus one after another only after the police removed the can to the adjoining Subarnarekha river for its disposal.

Revealing about the episode, the City SP, Kartik later confirmed that someone has tried to create panic by leaving an unclaimed can at the government bus terminus.
