Jamshedpur, June 4: Panic gripped the Railway Loco Colony in Parsudih on Wednesday morning after the body of a middle-aged man was found floating in a well. The discovery was made by a local resident who had gone to bathe near the well. He immediately alerted others.
A crowd quickly gathered at the scene. Locals expressed anger over the delayed response of the police, claiming that Parsudih police arrived much later despite being informed early.
Upon arrival, police retrieved the decomposed body with assistance from residents and sent it for postmortem. Preliminary reports suggested the man, estimated to be around 40 years old, might have died two days ago. Signs of decomposition were clearly visible.

The identity of the deceased remained unknown. Police were reviewing missing persons reports from nearby areas in an effort to establish the man’s identity and determine the cause of death. Authorities suspected the incident might be linked to foul play but awaited the postmortem report for confirmation.
Residents voiced concerns over the safety and security of the area, stating that similar incidents had occurred before. They urged the administration to conduct regular inspections of wells and improve local security measures.
Parsudih police station in-charge confirmed that a thorough investigation was underway and assured residents that the matter was being treated with seriousness.
