Jamshedpur, May 2: Bank of Baroda (BOB) has taken a unique initiative by launching a training program of regional languages for its staff members in order to deliver satisfactory customer service and easy communication with their customers in their mother tongue.
Now, Bank of Baroda is giving local language training in non-Hindi linguistic areas to its staff members, who don�t know the local language of that particular area. Bank of Baroda is the first public sector bank in country which has taken such unique initiative of local language training to employees in banking sector.
Vindhya J. Ramesh, general manager (HRM) inaugurated the Marathi training classes at bank�s corporate office in Mumbai.
This training program has been designed in two phases. In first phase, local language training is being imparted to newly recruited officers with their induction training at bank�s various training centers and in second phase, the same is being imparted to existing staff members posted in non-Hindi linguistic areas through their administrative offices. For the second phase, a 20 hours syllabus for each regional language has been designed.
Initially, these training programs have been started in Mumbai and Pune (Marathi), Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam (Telugu), Bengaluru (Kannad), Baroda (Gujarati), Kolkata (Bangla) and Chandigarh (Punjabi). Some new centers will be started from May 2016.
