Jamshedpur, Sept 4: Tata Motors has announced block closure on 6th and 7th September. This is going to be September�s first block closure. A notification in this regard has been issued by the company�s plant head. After the two days of closure, 8th September (Sunday) will be a holiday.
The block closure was last announced on 24th August. So far 21 block closures have been announced by the company.
Union sources said an agreement was reached between the company and the union for increasing the block closure period of 24 days to 39 days.
Sources said the ongoing slowdown in the automobile sector has affected the sale of vehicles. This has affected production. An improvement in the automobile sector is expected from October, sources said.
