Jamshedpur : Drawing lessons from Prime Minister Narendra Modi the district BJP launched cleanliness to mark its foundation day.
BJP leaders wielded broom on the streets to celebrate the foundation day. The workers led by district president Nandji Prasad cleaned MGM Medical College and Hospital and bus stands.
The workers took a pledge of cleanliness as part of Modi government’s ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign and sweep public buildings, parks, schools, railway platforms and roads.
Apart from MGM Medical College and Hospital, BJP activists including party members from Sakchi block cleaned the Sitaramdera bus terminus. The party members also cleaned the Sakchi town bus private stands. BJP yuva morcha members led by its president Ratan Mahto cleaned areas outside Tatanagar Station for nearly an hour from 11 am.
Actions speak louder than words and the ruling BJP’s workers understand this perfectly. Walking on the streets, the BJP workers are going a step ahead in a live demonstration of their promises. In tune with Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the party’s promise of a clean Jamshedpur, the supporters picked up brooms to clean up the litter left behind after campaigning.
“It is a nice change to see the party workers and politicians cleaning up the mess on the streets. Usually, a street would be littered with flowers, sweets and lots of pamphlets during foundation day . However, this time around, a few supporters stay back and clean up the street. It is nice to see a change in the way politicians work,” said Aarti Miglani, a school teacher.
” We have formed special groups who have been assigned to clean up the streets after a public meeting. The cleaning up is not just restricted to the litter caused during the campaign but in fact, the workers are cleaning up the entire streets, noted a worker.
