The traffic personnel also failed to take action against them.
The rally passed through Mango roundabout and then reached Sitaramdera bus terminus crossing through Old Court Road to reach Sakchi roundabout and then took to Straight Mile Road to reach Jusco roundabout (in Northern Town) and then reached Bistupur roundabout (Bistupur Main Road), Jugsalai Main Road, Station Overbridge, Burmamines Main Road, R D Tata roundabout (Kalimati Road), Golmuri Main Road, Telco Main Road to end at Birsanagar Sunday Market.
During the rally, the activists garlanded busts and statues of national icons like Khudiram Bose (Mango), J N Tata (Bistupur ), Bhagat Singh (Jugsalai) and Birsa Munda (Birsa Bhawan).
The traffic police officials was not able to give a proper reply on the reason for his subordinates in traffic police not fining the helmet-less riders.
Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto admitted of the violation of traffic norm. I along with BJP district president (Dinesh Kumar Sahu) made sure to wear helmets.
We had asked all the party block level levels in city during a meeting yesterday at Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur to ensure wear helmets.
It seems the party activists seemed to have forgotten to carry helmets in their eagerness to participate in the rally.
However, we will ensure that in future all members do wear helmets during rally, said the Jamshedpur MP.
A party worker said that that the was intended to imbibe a spirit of nationalism and spread awareness about the contribution of freedom fighters, but participants were seen roaming from one area to another.
