Jamshedpur : The income-tax (I-T) department on Tuesday conducted raid at offices and residence of city based leading businessmen Mahesh Poddar, Chandulal Bhalotia and S Mittal.
The raids were carried out in residences and offices located at Jugsalai, CH Area, and Kadma. A team of IncomeTax department also seized several documents from their offices. The raids that started at 12 noon continued till late evening.
The team is also probing into the business deals and disproportionate assets of the businessmen who own industries at Adtiyapur and have several flourishing business in the steel city.
The IT officials have sealed more than 25 bank accounts and sources confirmed that huge amounts of disproportionate assets has been amassed by the traders.
