Jamshedpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised serious concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation and the rise of illegal activities in Jamshedpur. The party has blamed the district administration and police for their inaction and has issued a stern warning that if corrective measures are not taken within 10 days, BJP workers, along with the public, will stage protests and gherao police stations.
On Saturday, BJP leaders from the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency submitted a memorandum to the Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police, demanding immediate resolution of various public concerns in the region. The memorandum highlighted several pressing issues, including the rapid proliferation of illegal drug activities affecting the youth, illegal sand mining in the Sidgora and Birsanagar areas, and the open sale of government land in Birsanagar without any intervention from the authorities.
The BJP highlighted that drug trafficking is rampant across almost all police station areas in Jamshedpur, adversely impacting the youth.
Sidgora and Birsanagar have become hubs for sand mafia operations, posing a severe threat to the environment.
In Birsanagar, government land is being sold openly, with no action from the administration.
The party expressed concern over the increasing incidents of snatching and the unchecked presence of anti-social elements at public places, causing fear and insecurity among women and students.
The BJP alleged that prior complaints and memorandums regarding these issues were ignored by the administration, indicating a lack of concern for public welfare.
BJP General Secretary Sanjeev Singh stated that if the administration fails to resolve these issues within 10 days, the party will mobilize public support and stage protests. “We will have no choice but to take to the streets and hold the administration accountable for its inaction,” Singh said.
The meeting and memorandum submission were attended by several BJP leaders and workers, including Mithilesh Singh Yadav, Babu Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Pappu Singh, Khem Lal Choudhary, Pawan Agarwal, Binod Singh, Amit Singh, Sagar Roy, Yuvraj Singh, Bablu Gop, Vikas Sharma, Suraj Singh, Appa Rao, Probir Chatterjee Rana, Santosh Thakur, Pappu Mishra, Ruby Jha, Boltu Sarkar, Ashok Samant, Rajesh Singh Pappu, Amish Agarwal, and others.
