Ranchi, March 17: Jharkhand BJP and AJSU leaders Sunday reached a consensus on seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Under the pre-poll alliance, BJP will be fielding its candidates on 13 out of the 14 Parliamentary seats across Jharkhand, leaving the lone Giridih seat for AJSU.
Addressing a press meet at the state BJP headquarters, state BJP president Laxman Gilua and AJSU chief Sudesh Mahato confirmed the seat sharing formula. Gilua said both the BJP and AJSU had decided to strengthen the National Democratic Alliance in Jharkhand. �AJSU is an old ally of BJP. We expect to deepen our ties further by forging a strong alliance this Lok Sabha election. We hope to rout the Opposition�s mahamilavat (adulteration) with landslide margin,� he said.
Sudesh Mahato said the announcement of name of AJSU candidate for the Giridih seat would be made on 23rd March. �Leaders of BJP and AJSU will launch joint campaigns for NDA candidates on all seats. This alliance will be effective for Lok Sabha elections only. Talks will be held for the Assembly polls after the LS polls,� he said.
Mahato said the country needs a strong government headed by a strong leadership and hence Narendra Modi undoubtedly the strongest candidate for the post of Prime Minister, he said.
�We all want Narendra Modi to form government at the Centre. People of Jharkhand too, want him to lead the country,� he said.
AJSU vice president Chandra Prakash Choudhary, state BJP general secretary Deepak Prakash and media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak were also present at the press meet.
