Ghatshila, March 17: One person was killed and three including the proprietor Jagarnath Tiwary were seriously injured in a blast at the ice cream factory in Dhalbhumgarh Railway Colony at 7:30 am.
A report on the blast stated that two technicians had come to the ice cream factory from West Bengal. The blast, purportedly caused by the explosion of a gas cylinder in the factory premises led to the death of one of the mechanics from West Bengal while the proprietor Jagarnath Tiwary and two other technicians received serious injuries. The three injured persons were rushed to TMH for treatment where the condition of Tiwary is stated to be serious.
The police arrived at the spot and started investigation. Repair work was going on in the ice cream factory when the blast occurred. The police remained tight lipped. They have sealed the factory. According to reports, the factory was functioning illegally.
