Jamshedpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a demonstration at the Deputy Commissioner’s office to protest persistent drinking water shortages and unannounced power cuts. The agitation targeted the administration’s failure to maintain basic services for residents in Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas.
Symbolic Protest by Mahila Morcha
During the protest, members of the BJP Mahila Morcha smashed empty earthen pots on the ground. This symbolic act represented public frustration over the lack of water during the current heatwave. The demonstration highlighted the daily struggles of citizens facing irregular electricity and dry taps.
Leadership Criticizes State Government
BJP leaders stated that the government carries the primary responsibility for providing essential amenities. They alleged that local authorities ignored repeated complaints from various neighborhoods regarding the breakdown of civic services.
Senior BJP leader and spokesperson Amarpreet Singh Kale joined the workers, criticizing the state government’s handling of the crisis. Kale announced that the party would intensify its struggle for public rights through both street protests and legislative action.
Demand for Immediate Action
Protesters raised slogans against the administration throughout the event. The party demanded that the Deputy Commissioner implement immediate measures to restore regular water and electricity supply across the city to provide relief from the summer heat.
