Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and activists of Jamshedpur West assembly constituency here joined hands to oppose the alleged decline in law and order situation across the city and corruption in the police department.
They said they will not take the law and order and corruption issues lying down as people were consequently getting directly affected.
District BJP vice president Kamal Kishore and general secretary Mukul Mishra are among the party members directed by senior party leaders to contact district BJP president Dinesh Kumar to take up the law and order and corruption issues. They were asked to request state level party leaders to discuss these issues with state police authorities and administration officials.
The BJP leaders today held a meeting to formulate strategy to counter corruption in the police department and demand improvement in the law and order situation and action against guilty cops.
Meanwhile, Police Association members recently alleged that certain politicians were frequently disrupting police work by visiting police station and putting pressure on officials out of their own vested interest.
BJP leaders asked the Police Association members to name the BJP members who were disrupting the work of police and trying to get things done in an underhand manner.
Among others present at the meeting included Lallan Dwivedi, Vikas Singh, Deepu Singh, Uma Singh, Abhishek Shukla and Kanhaiyya Ojha.
