Jamshedpur, May 4: The court on Thursday granted bail to BJP leader Abhay Singh, accused of violating the Covid guidelines in Sakchi Kashidih.
While hearing the case, the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Nishant Kumar granted bail to Abhay Singh.
Advocate Prakash Jha argued on behalf of Abhay Singh. Advocate Prakash Jha told the court that Prasad was being distributed during Durga Puja by Abhay Singh.
Regarding this, the administration had lodged an FIR accusing him of violating Covid protocol. Describing this attitude of the administration as wrong, the court granted bail to Abhay Singh. Although Abhay Singh is also an accused in the Kadma violence case, and is still in jail.
On October 13, 2021, on the day of Durgapuja’s Mahashtami, bhog was being distributed from the Shiva temple located near Kashidih Puja Pandal. At that time, the then Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar had reached there to inspect. He had stopped the distribution of bhog, after which Abhay Singh had a heated argument with the Deputy Commissioner.
After this, all the Durga Puja committees had warned to stop the immersion if district administration did not apologise. On this, the then Additional District Magistrate Nandkishore Lal went there and talked to the committees and pacified the matter. A month later, the district administration lodged an FIR.
