Jamshedpur, October 26: BJP’s Jamshedpur District General Secretary, Sanjeev Singh, reacted strongly to Congress leader Dr. Ajay Kumar’s recent comments calling them “frustrated” and highlighted the achievements of the previous Raghubar Das-led government. Singh challenged Ajay Kumar to explain why, despite Congress and JMM’s five-year rule, no efforts were made to secure ownership rights for Jamshedpur’s slum dwellers.
Singh noted that, in 2018, under former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, the BJP government had enacted a law to directly lease land to slum residents, offering them greater security and rights. The move freed slum residents from eviction fears, unlike those living on sublease land under Tata Steel in areas like Sonari and Kadma. Singh also highlighted improvements in infrastructure and essential services, such as water, electricity, roads, and waste management, made under Das’ leadership.
