Jamshedpur: District BJP president Dinesh Kumar demanded disciplinary action against the officer in-charge of Olidih PS for allegedly beating up former district BJP president Rajkumar Srivastava. He said the OC had shown high-handedness by beating up Srivastava and his mother at the police station late Tuesday night.
Kumar visited Tata Main Hospital on Wednesday to see Srivastava and inquire about the incident. He earlier met Sanjeev Singh, former district vice president of BJP, with whom Srivastava had allegedly had an altercation yesterday.
The BJP president said he was shocked at the treatment meted out to Srivastava in the hands of the Olidih OC. He said he had complained to the SSP of Jamshedpur regarding the incident and sought action against the OC. A delegation of BJP leaders would meet the SSP tomorrow if no action is taken against the accused cop till noon.
