Seraikela, August 30: Babulal Marandi, the first and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and leader of the BJP Legislature Party, reached Seraikela Kharsawan district on Monday to participate in the District Working Committee meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Scheduled Tribes Morcha. Babulal Marandi was accorded a warm welcome by BJP workers at Chowka Morh, Kandra Morh, Kolabira, Dugni, Court Morh and Gopabandhu Chowk on his way to the Saraikela Town Hall to participate in the meeting. On reaching the venue, he was welcomed by the BJP ST Cell district president Sanjay Sardar with traditional tribal hat made of leaves and a Chhau mask as memento.

In his address, the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Babulal Marandi said that it was the Bharatiya Janata Party that had created a separate Jharkhand state for the benefit of the tribals. “The development of the state has been possible only during the tenure of Bharatiya Janata Party. Therefore, I call upon all the workers to unite and work among the people in public and party interest with loyalty. I appeal to all party cadres to spread information about the welfare schemes being run by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for the people and help them in getting these benefits. Mark my words, the 2024 elections in the state would see BJP back at the Jharkhand helm.”

The welcome address was delivered by District President of the BJP ST Cell, Sanjay Sardar. State President of BJP Scheduled Tribes Morcha Shiv Shankar Oraon, in-charge Ram Kumar Pahan, BJP District President Vijay Mahto and State Treasurer of Scheduled Tribes Morcha Ganesh Mahali also addressed the conference. State General Secretary Vijay Kumar Melgandi, Organization in-charge JB Tubid, Laxman Tudu, Nagar Panchayat President Minakshi Patnaik, Zila Parishad President Shakuntala Mahali, Nagar Panchayat Vice President Manoj Kumar Chaudhary, Adityapur Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Amit Singh alias Bobby Singh, former BJP District President Uday Pratap Singhdeo, National Executive member of Morcha Ramesh Hansda, Chami Murmu, Lal Singh Soy, Ramnath Mahto, Abhishek Acharya, Basko Besra, Shambhu Mandal were among other leaders present at the conference. The program was conducted by the district vice-president of the Morcha, Meghrai Mardi.
