BJM’s Subodh Srivastava criticizes burning of Saryu Roy’s effigy

Jamshedpur, September 19: Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha’s (BJM) District President Subodh Srivastava condemned the actions of some Congress members who, he claimed, were burning effigies of Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy. Srivastava claimed that those involved in the incidents were working under the instructions of Health Minister Banna Gupta and were also spreading false accusations in the constituency.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Srivastava highlighted a pending case involving Munna Singh, who was arrested for assaulting a tribal woman. The case, filed at Kadma police station recently, had evoked no police action due to the alleged involvement of individuals close to the minister. Srivastava refuted allegations linking Munna Singh and Saryu Roy by caste, emphasizing that Singh belonged to a marginalized community and received court relief based on merit, not political protection.

Srivastava also praised MLA Roy’s work for the tribal community in Jamshedpur East, stating that his contributions in the past three years had surpassed those of the previous 30 years. He urged the community not to be misled by political conspiracies and announced that Saryu Roy would address the issue with the public upon his return. Srivastava warned that BJM would take measures against these politically motivated actions.
