Jamshedpur, March 19: A delegation of members of Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM) visited various localities of Mango following the downpour on Saturday. Most of the localities were water-logged as a result of poor drainage system, alleged Kulvinder Singh Pannu, convener of Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) committee of BJM.
The BJM leader, who also visited Deshbandhu Line, Nityanand Colony, said, “The localities are in poor condition due to water-logging caused by the rain. This has happened due to the clogging of drains. People are forced to stay indoors as they cannot move out of their houses due to overflowing drain water on roads.” Subodh Srivastava, district president of BJM, alleged that numerous applications were submitted by the party members to the MMC office but no action was taken to improve the drainage system. He said the local MLA Banna Gupta was sleeping over civic issues being faced by the people of the constituency.
