Jamshedpur, April 20:  Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM) Ulidih and Mango units jointly burnt the effigy of Jharkhand Health and Disaster Management Minister Banna Gupta at Khudiram Chowk in Mango in protest against corruption and misappropriation of COVID incentive funds meant for health workers who worked ceaselessly for patients at the cost of threats to their lives. During the protest, BJM Mango Municipal Area President Praveen Singh was present during the party protest against Banna Gupta. The protestors burnt the effigy of the State Health Minister and raised slogans against him. BJM Ulidih Mandal President Prem Saxena and Mango Mandal President Kanhaiya Ojha said in a joint statement that the Health Minister of Jharkhand cleverly manipulated and distributed the incentive amount among the employees of his department and himself. They claimed that after the wrongdoing was exposed, Banna Gupta and his supporters have been trying to disturb communal harmony and politicking on forward and backward caste issues. Prem Saxena and Kanhaiya Ojha accused the Jharkhand Health Minister of opening his office on a government holiday to tamper with documents and cover traces of corrupt act in the form of misappropriation of incentive amount. “A big syndicate for loot and scam was being run by the Minister and his associates, which has been busted by Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy. The BJM cadres will be whistle blowers against any corrupt practice. We are now taking up cudgels for the Corona Warriors of Jharkhand for their incentive amounts and urge Jharkhand Chief Minister to sack Health Minister Banna Gupta from his cabinet.” Pramod Singh Mallu, Abhijit Senapati, Sunita Singh, Niraj Sahu, Ganesh Sharma, Bijendra Singh, Prem Dixit, Rahul Prasad, Tittu, Mahesh Prasad and others were present on this occasion.
