Jamshedpur, April 20: One Jitendra Kumar Singh, a resident of Govindpur, died under mysterious circumstances at Sakchi-based Sagar Beer Bar on Wednesday, police said.
Sources said Jitendra, a clock merchant, who had gone to the beer bar with three local friends, was admitted to Care Nursing Home at Govindpur in the afternoon. The doctor declared Jitendra brought dead.
Later, police took Jitendra’s three friends, Mantu, Puneet and Munna in custody for interrogation in connection with the death. Jitendra’s family members accused the three of having beaten Jitendra to death following a dispute at the beer bar. The three friends however claimed that Jitendra had fallen from the stairs of the beer bar after drinking heavily.
Sources however claimed that the four friends had had a tiff at the bar over some issue. Jitendra was found dead after the quarrel, sources said.
Police officials said they were investigating the matter and scanning the CCTV cameras at the beer bar to arrive at a conclusion regarding the cause of death and the circumstances that led to it.
Both Sakchi and Govindpur police are probing the matter.
