Shooting for ‘Devendra Majhi: Ek Yoddha’ commences in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 20: Shooting for the film, ‘Devendra Majhi: Ek Yoddha,’ based on the identity of warriors and Shahids who fought for their rights over Jal, Jungle and Zameen and a separate statehood of Jharkhand, has commenced. Several Jamshedpur artistes have been selected for key roles in this celluloid venture being produced under the banner of JJ Movies. The cast and crew of the film project participated in a workshop organized in the auditorium of Ganinath Mandir in Golmuri. The writer and director of the film, Jitendra Jyoti, informed, “One of the spearheads of the Jharkhand movement encapsulating rights over Jal, Jungle, Zameen, Devendra Majhi’s agitation will be highlighted in the movie. Majhi played a vital role in the agitation for a separate Jharkhand state. His saga of struggle made him an iconic warrior for the freedom of the tribal folk and their rights over Jal (water), jungle, Zameen (land). Devendra Majhi had become a household name in the freedom struggle.”

 The film will be released in the month of June. popular singer Ajit Aman of Jharkhand and Bihar, who was present at the workshop, has rendered a song in the film. Those present at the workshop included Surya Singh Hembram, Manoj Pandey, Kumar Gaurav, Olivia Singh, Sanju Kumari, Aditya Singh, Sugandha Singh, Rishabh and others who will be playing important characters in the fim.have got a chance in the film.
