BIT Mesra hosts ‘Know Yourself as a Teacher’ workshop for faculty enrichment

Ranchi, Apr 23: The Value Education Cell of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, in collaboration with the Institute Innovation Council, organized a one-day faculty development workshop titled “Know Yourself. As a Teacher” on April 23. The event aimed at encouraging self-awareness and personal growth among teaching staff to enhance their effectiveness as educators.

The workshop began with an inaugural ceremony at 10:00 AM in the CAT Hall. Attendees were welcomed with a video presentation showcasing highlights from previous workshops, setting a reflective and inspirational tone for the day. This was followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and the singing of the institute’s prayer.

Professor Sanjay Kumar, the workshop convener, warmly welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of self-knowledge and introspection for educators. He outlined the agenda for the day and urged faculty members to reflect on their personal and professional journeys. He was followed by motivational addresses from Prof. Sandeep Singh Solanki and Prof. Ashok Sheron, who reiterated the significance of self-development in teaching.

Prof. Vishal H. Shah, the co-convener, expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to organizing the event. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.

The first session of the day, which commenced at 11:30 AM, was led by Prof. Sanjay Kumar, who delivered an inspiring presentation on “From Teaching to Transformation.” The post-lunch session began at 2:00 PM with a quiz, followed by a lecture guiding participants to identify and overcome personal limitations. An engaging self-analysis activity allowed attendees to introspect and share insights.

At 3:45 PM, the final session explored themes like “Sharpening the Self,” “Relaxation Techniques,” and “The Journey Within.” This was followed by a prize distribution ceremony for quiz winners. The workshop concluded with a collective reflection session where participants and organizers exchanged feedback and suggestions, rounding off a thoughtful and empowering day of self-discovery.
