JDU halts Jamshedpur Flyover work over design irregularities

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Apr 23: Construction work on the Mango flyover near the Payal Cinema Road has been halted by Janata Dal (United) leaders of East Singhbhum following complaints of serious irregularities. The action was led by District President Subodh Srivastava, who visited the site with a team of local leaders and residents.

The JDU leaders held discussions with the project manager and demanded that the flyover design be made public. They argued that the road leading to Payal Cinema is too narrow and erecting pillars on one side would leave only a single lane for two-way traffic, causing severe congestion even after the flyover’s completion.

JDU insisted that construction should not resume until Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy visits the site in two days. The party plans to hold a consultation with market vendors and residents regarding the flyover’s design. Only after public consent and transparency in design, the construction should continue.

Key figures present included JDU Mahanagar President Ajay Kumar, MLA representative Pintu Singh, District Secretary Prem Saxena, District Spokesperson Akash Shah, Ulidih Mandal President Praveen Singh, Mango Mandal President Lalu Gaur and other local leaders and shopkeepers. (w/nkm)
